This product uses four active ingredients to relieve the symptoms of the common cold. No medicine cures the common cold.

Acetaminophen is used to relieve pain and reduce fever. To avoid taking an overdose of acetaminophen, check the labels of all over-the-counter and prescription medications you are taking as many contain acetaminophen. Liver damage may occur with excessive use of acetaminophen.

Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant for short-term use to help relieve dry, hacking, nonproductive cough. Unless recommended by a physician, dextromethorphan should not be used to treat persistent chronic cough related to smoking, emphysema, or asthma, or a cough that produces excessive secretions.

You may find that other measures increase the cough suppressant effect of dextromethorphan. Drink plenty of fluids. Avoid smoke, dust and other atmospheric pollutants. Sucking on hard candy or lozenges may relieve throat irritation or discomfort.

Doxylamine is an antihistamine used to help relieve symptoms of the common cold and seasonal allergies such as runny nose, sneezing, and eye and throat irritation. Antihistamines may cause irritability, dry mouth, thickening of mucus secretions, blurred vision, and difficulty in urination.

Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant which may help decrease nasal stuffiness in hay fever, sinusitis and the common cold. Decongestants may cause nervousness, restlessness, difficulty sleeping, dizziness, headache, nausea, and rapid heartbeat.

If you are taking prescription antidepressant medication called moclobemide (Manerix), phenelzine (Nardil), or tranylcypromine (Parnate), do not take this medication. Severe headache, neck stiffness, shakiness, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, racing of the heart, and increased blood pressure may result. If this occurs, obtain medical help immediately.

Consult with your physician before taking this medication if you have glaucoma or an enlarged prostate gland. Do not use this medication if you have hyperthyroidism, high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, or heart or blood vessel disease. Do not take this medication more often or in greater dosages than recommended on the package labelling. To do so increases the risk of side effects.

Some people experience drowsiness with this medication. Do not drive or operate dangerous machinery until you see how it affects you.

Tell your physician or pharmacist if you develop any persistent or troublesome side effects while taking this medication.

Alcoholic beverages and some medications such as sleeping pills and tranquilizers will cause increased sedation (and intoxication with alcohol). Use extreme moderation if alcohol is consumed and do not take any other medications without the advice of your physician or pharmacist.

Tell your physician if you plan to become pregnant or if you wish to breast-feed your baby. Store this medication in its original labelled container, tightly closed, in a dark place and out of the reach of children. Do not allow anyone else to use this medication.
