This medication contains two active ingredients: acetaminophen and
tramadol.
Acetaminophen is used to relieve pain and reduce fever. To avoid taking an
overdose of acetaminophen, check the labels of all over-the-counter and
prescription medications you are taking as many contain acetaminophen.
Liver damage may occur with excessive use of acetaminophen.
Tramadol is a narcotic used for relief of pain.
Do not take this medication more often or in greater dosages than
recommended by your physician. If you think you need more to relieve your
symptoms, contact your physician.
If you are taking this medication regularly and neglect to take your dose
on time, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next
dose, skip the missed dose entirely and continue with your regular dosing
schedule. Do not double doses.
Since this medication causes drowsiness or dizziness do not drive a car or
operate machinery. Sleeping pills, tranquilizers, or alcohol should not be
taken at the same time as codeine except on the advice of your physician,
as sedative effects will be increased.
If nausea or dizziness occur, lie down.
If you experience difficulty breathing, tell your physician right away.
If you experience difficulty in urinating, contact your physician, nurse,
or pharmacist. Constipation is common and laxatives may be needed.
Of special concern to the elderly: constipation, and side effects such as
dizziness on standing up, which may contribute to falls. You should get up
slowly from sitting or lying down. You may wish to have someone with you
when you are walking, especially when first taking this drug.
If you think you or someone else may have taken an overdose of this
medication, get emergency medical help immediately.
Store this medication in its original labelled container,tightly closed, in
a dark place and out of the reach of children. Do not allow anyone else to
use this medication.
