Diclofenac tablets are used to reduce inflammation in various rheumatic disorders, and to relieve pain.

Take this medication exactly as prescribed by your physician. Do not take more than the prescribed amount. When used for rheumatoid arthritis, it must be taken regularly to be fully effective. It may take several weeks before the full effect is achieved in rheumatic conditions.

Take each dose with a full glass of water, while sitting or standing. It should also be taken at the same time as a meal, a snack, or an antacid if prescribed, to reduce stomach irritation.

If you are taking diclofenac more than two times daily and accidentally miss a dose, take it is soon as you remember and then continue with your regular dosing schedule. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose entirely and continue with your regular dosing schedule.

If you are taking diclofenac once or twice daily and accidentally miss a dose, take the missed dose only if you remember it within two hours of its regular time, and then continue with your regular dosing schedule. Otherwise, skip the missed dose entirely and continue with your regular dosing schedule.

If you have stomach upset or heartburn that persist, black tarry stools, vomiting of brownish fluid, skin reactions, or any other unusual or annoying effects, contact your physician, nurse or pharmacist.

In some patients, dizziness or drowsiness may occur. Avoid sedatives and hazardous tasks requiring mental alertness, such as driving, until your response to this drug is known.

Tell your physician, dentist and pharmacist if you have had drug allergies or stomach ulcers; if you are pregnant; or if you take any other medication including ASA (aspirin), drugs to lower blood pressure, lithium, digoxin and anticoagulants (blood thinners).

Keep this medication in a labelled container, out of the reach of children. Do not allow anyone else to use this medication.
