Estradiol is an estrogen, a female hormone. It can be used to relieve
symptoms that can occur in conditions of estrogen deficiency, such as in
menopause or surgical removal of ovaries.
If you notice any unusual or troublesome effects, for example, abnormal
vaginal bleeding, breast pain or lumps, pains in the abdominal area, and
bloating or swelling of feet and lower legs, contact your physician.
While taking this medication, perform regular breast self-examinations and
see your physician at least once a year. Keep your physician informed of
any other medication you are taking. If you have also been prescribed
another drug, a progestin, be sure to take it regularly.
If you will have major surgery, ask your physician if you should
temporarily stop taking this medication.
If you think you are pregnant, stop taking estradiol and inform your
physician.
This product will take a few weeks for full benefit. The ring may be
temporarily removed during intercourse, if it is uncomfortable.
Store this medication in its original labelled container, out of the reach
of children. Do not allow anyone else to use this medication.
