Prazosin is used to treat high blood pressure, symptoms of enlarged
prostate, Raynaud's phenomenon, as well as other conditions.
It is very important to take this medication precisely as prescribed by
your physician, even though you may not feel sick. It must be taken
regularly to be fully effective.
Some people feel faint or dizzy when starting this medication. Do not drive
or operate heavy machinery within two hours or more of the first dose. If
you should feel dizzy or faint at any time, sit or lie down; the feeling
will pass with time. Notify your physician as soon as possible.
Take your medication at the same time(s) each day. Dosage times should be
associated with other regular activities (such as meals or teeth brushing)
to assist you in remembering to take it.
If you should forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember.
However, if it is time for your next dose, only take that one. Do not take
a double dose to make up for a missed one.
Stay in close contact with your physician so that he/she may follow your
blood pressure response to this medication.
Always keep an adequate amount on hand; contact your pharmacist before you
run out of medication.
Store this medication in its original labelled container at room
temperature, out of the reach of children.
